Le Jour Se Leve

I have come across a blog, A Film Canon, by a Mr Billy Stevenson, where you will find very original capsule reviews of many classic movies, including quite a number of films of interest to readers of FilmsNoir.Net:

  1. Not only do we have a fantastic overview of noir here, but we also have some insightful reviews of essential works in world cinema, most recently REPAST, a film I deeply revere, by Naruse, also one of my all-time favorites Bresson’s DIARY OF A COUNTRY PRIEST and Ozu’s EARLY SUMMER, among others. I agree with Allan, that Stevenson’s writing is outstanding, and there’s always room for this kind of further enrichment. I will be sure to bookmark this.

  2. Hey – thanks for linking to my website. As a 25-year old postgrad student/slacker, it’s very strange to hear myself referred to as ‘Mr’! Btw my favourite noir directors are Jules Dassin, Henri-Georges Clouzot & Delmer Daves…
